The Institute of Environmental Ecology was established formally in 2017, which evolved from the predecessor of the Laboratory of Environmental Ecology. The research direction of environmental ecology was organized at the beginning of our Environmental Institute, and the related topics include plant ecology, pollution ecology and so on.

Under the leadership of Professor Renqing Wang, the Institute of Environmental Ecology is experiencing rapid development. We have developed extensive cooperation with the related research institutes at home and abroad, and we strive to promote the concept of ecological civilization. In the study of environmental ecology, we have built an efficient team with young and middle-aged scientists as the backbone and a series of important research achievements have been obtained.

Now, the Institute of Environmental Ecology has developed good research system, and the academic activities include wetland ecology, plant ecology, microbial ecology, soil ecology, ecological restoration, pollution ecology and so on. The institute has undertaken more than ten national research projects and published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers. The institute has become an integrated platform for scientific research and postgraduate education.

The institute now has 7 teachers and 4 of them are doctoral supervisors and 5 of them are master student supervisors. Professor Jian Liu is the current institute director. Maser and doctor students are warm welcome to our institute.
