2020-08-17Edit:杨哲

Institute of Atmospheric Environmental Chemistry has achieved rapid development with the support from the Shandong University and Environment Research Institute. With the discipline construction and talent cultivation for more than ten years, an excellent research team has formed with the majority of young and middle-aged researchers and in combination with senior scientists. The team consists of eight full-time faculty members and one foreign expert, including one Member of China Engineering Academy, one Overseas High-Level Talent, one National Natural Science Foundation-Outstanding Youth Foundation Winner, three Qilu Young Scholars, one additional professor, and three associate professors. We have built domestic advanced atmospheric environmental pollution observation stations in Jinan and Qingdao and one regional atmospheric environmental observation station at the summit of Mt. Tai. We have more than fifty sets of advanced sampler, monitors, and analyzers for atmospheric pollutants. At present, total 43 doctoral and master students are studying in our institute. More than ten doctoral students have studied in famous oversea universities and institutes for joint training or academic visiting. We have trained more than 40 doctors and masters in the past more than ten years. Many doctors are now teaching and conducting research work in universities and institutes such as Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, Sun Yat-sen University, Shandong University, Ocean University of China, Shandong Normal University, University of Jinan, Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, Shandong Academy of Environmental Sciences. Maters mostly work on environmental protection and management in various enterprises and public institutes in Shandong and other provinces.

Institute of Atmospheric Environmental Chemistry aimed to address the prominent problems of atmospheric pollution and international frontiers of atmospheric chemistry. Research interests include: (a) chemistry and source apportionment of fine particles (PM2.5) and formation mechanisms of haze pollution; (2) atmospheric reactive trace gases, atmospheric photochemical mechanisms, and the environmental effects; (3) determination methods for atmospheric pollutants and development of mass spectrometry techniques.

Institute of Atmospheric Environmental Chemistry have undertaken and completed more than 40 projects, including task of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, sub-task of the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), key program and general program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, sub-task of the National Environmental Protection Public Welfare Industry Targeted Research Fund, consulting project of The Chinese Academy of Engineering, key project of the Environmental Protection Department of Shandong Province, and so on. We have conducted many short- and long-term atmospheric observations in Beijing, Shanghai, Lanzhou, many cities in Shandong, Mt. Waliguan, Mt. Tai. Mt. Heng, and other locations. We have published almost 200 papers as the first author affiliation in high-quality SCI journal including Chemical Reviews, Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, Environmental Science and Technology, Journal of Geophysical Research, and so on. We have received the second prize of the Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award, the first prize of the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award of Shandong colleges and universities, and the second prize of the Natural Science Award of ministry of Education (rank second).
